Traditional draw bridge in Gouda
The realisation of this movable drawbridge forms part of the "Zuidwestelijke Randweg N207, Brug over de Hollandse IJssel en de verbindingsweg naar Schoonhoven” project. Hollandia carried out the work as a partner in the GG 207 consortium (consisting of Van Hattum en Blankevoort, Boskalis, KWS Infra and Hollandia).
At the time of realisation, the bridge was the largest drawbridge in the Netherlands.
Within the context of this project, Hollandia will be responsible for the design, realisation, turnkey delivery and 20-year maintenance of the electro-hydraulically driven steel bridge across the Hollandse IJssel. Based on the architect’s plans, Hollandia came up with the complete design for the bridge and driving gear. The bridge has two lanes for road traffic, two lanes for cyclists and one for pedestrians.
In addition to the design and realisation, the contract also covers a 20-year maintenance period.
